Fifteen minutes or so later, the bell went for first class and the students started to file in. Elizabeth headed for her first class, English.

Connor turned and corner, he had a stitch but was still running.

Elizabeth sat down in a seat near the back of the classroom after the teacher indroduced her. She smiled at every person, stuffing her earphones into her pocket. She sat down and tried to concentrate on the class.

Elizabeth started to do the work set, noticing one empty seat in the classroom.

He rushed inside and looked and at the woman at receptionist. She tutted and gave him a detention slip. He groaned and headed for his class.

Elizabeth stopped to change her pen as the ink was running out.

Connor entered class and handed his late slip to the teacher before looking at his usual seat to see someone sitting next to it. Great, a new girl to top off my day

He walked to his seat and sat down next to her.

Elizabeth glanced sideways at him, nodded and then turned back to her work, her hair blocking anyone from a view of her paper.
