Liz noticed a few people already at the school when she got there, but they ignored her so she sat down on a bench, reading a history book.

Connor arrived at the school gate ten minutes later. He already knew he was now mentally unstable enough to see and hear drawings move and speak. He'd spent the majority of the bus journey wondering which of his parents he'd probably inherited it from.

Liz thought about yesterday and what had happened with the drop of water. Had she imagined it? She sighed and looked up from her book.

Connor saw Liz and smiled to himself that she was okay. He headed over to her, forgetting his own problems.

Liz thought she heard something over her music and looked up. She spotted Connor and smiled a little as she sat up and pulled her earphones out.
