He doesn't seem so bad, he's just trying to make himself look scary by making all these stupid rules, that's my guess anyway

Ayre rolled her eyes at her. "We're going to stop this conversation right now," she said. "Come on, aren't I supposed to be showing you the gym?"

Ryan looked at her for a moment, narrowing his eyes at her, he thought for a couple of seconds before straightening out his face.

Ayre glanced at him and shrugged. "Its different with each person, sometimes it is worth and sometimes it isn't," she said, slowing down to walk next to him. "Like I said, different to each person."
