Ah common misconception. Empathy is seeing people's desires and wants. I think you meant Empathetic Mimicry.

With a high chance of getting rid of old ones. Which is why we need to do it ASAP. He could absorb powers without knowing it and get rid of his teleportation.

Erm, its really one ability, but it can absorb other's abilities, I'm guessing you got your fire off me, then. Erm, over time you may lose the abilities you've got now but they'll automatically be replaced by new ones.

It means you'll sometimes have new powers and you'll sometimes lose powers you have. Like you might lose you teleportation in a few days if we meet another person who can do stuff.
