Scarlette nodded.
"Its totally my fault. I shouldn't have stormed out on Ghost like that, I shouldn't of, then I wouldn't have been hit and --"
Scarlette stopped and bit her lip, realising what she'd just said.

Zach thought for a moment. His mind screamed at him to say something about it but he kept his calm noticing her very visible shock at herself saying it. He let it drop despite his mental objection. I obviously knew it was coming. For some reason I didn't even try to get regeneration at any point then. For whatever reason that was. So it's not your fault.

"Not really, the attack was a suprise. In the notes you left-"
Scarlette paused, wondering if she could go on.
"-you said that there hadn't been any activity that they were going to attack until it happened."

Zach nodded. It's my own doing. He said seriously, before walking towards the stairs.

Scarlette took a deep breath.
"Oh, by the way, I'm taking you somewhere, get Zoe and be ready in five."

Okay He nodded and went to look for Zoe.

Zoe was stood in the kitchen, staring at the cluttered backyard. She sighed.

Zach felt a little irritated as he realled their last conversation but he ignored himself again and approached her.

Zoe didn't notice him, she kept staring.

Zach tapped her on her shoulder. Phoenix said we're leaving in five minutes, get ready to go. He turned to head back upstairs.

Zoe nodded and went into the living room.

Scarlette was hunting for her car keys in her bedroom. She stood up after looking under the bed.
"Where are they?"

Zach walked up the stairs.

Scarlette looked under the papers on her desk. The locket that had belonged to Ghost dropped to the floor.

Zach walked towards her room.

Scarlette noticed the locket on the floor and smiled as she picked it up. She glanced at the photos inside and then chucked it on the bed. She resumed looking for the keys.

Zach watched her for a moment from the doorway. For someone who must be about 130 years old she was quite pretty. He could see what Ghost saw in her. We leaving?

"Yeah, when I find the keys. You haven't seen them anywhere, have you?"
Scarlette turned to him.

No. He said. Keys to what?

"The car, I'm taking you to Base One. My mate finally told me the location. After a year of trying to get it outta him."
Scarlette bend down to look underneath some papers at the bottom on her bed.

How did you manage to get a car through this wasteland? He said a little puzzled before some reality set in. Oh! How high tech are the cars in the 22nd century?

"No!"
Scarlette laughed.
"I've spent the past few months clearing some roads. And, no, the only thing that's high tech in the car is Sat Nav!"

Oh He grinned. So it's like from the time you fell into the coma?

"Yeah."
Scarlette grinned at him and spotted the key.
"Hah! Found it!"
She stood up and held up the key, smiling.
"I knew it was in here somewhere."
