Ayre found it and then pulled out one of her pencils. She put the bag on the floor, sat down, brough one of her feet up so it was resting on the chair and balanced the diary of her thigh before writing.

Ayre glanced up at him and closed the book so he couldn't see her writing. The book was old and a bit battered. There was a proper lock on it instead of one of the crap ones you get usually with diaries.

Ayre raised one eyebrow at him and then locked her diary up with the key on a chain around her neck. She shoved the book back into her bag and slipped the key under her t-shirt.
