She smiled.

She rested her chin on her knees and stared at him.
What do we do now? she asked.

Chloe nodded.
Oh, great! I'll give you a hand. I can help with securing this place.

He looked worryingly at her. No, your not in a fit enough state. Just stay here.

Chloe rolled her eyes.
Okay, she sighed. You shouldn't worry about me much! I'm the sort of person that heals quickly.

Chloe tightened her grip around her legs and rested her chin on her knees. She watched Gerald leave.

Gerald strolled down the corridor and sighed. He got out some trips* and i.d's* and scouted for some more good parts of the building to place them. (*Decided to shorten the traps if that's okay?)

(Yeah, tis fine!)

Chloe sighed and closed her eyes.
She was still tired. Her dreams had turned to nightmares of her family and of Jack.

He started placing various trips, being careful of the floor and walls since his fall.

Chloe didn't realise how tired she was until she fell asleep. Her grip around her arms loosened and her head rolled forwards.

Gerald marked out spot where the floor was weak in case they could be used to his advantage. He headed back up to the apartment, I'm ba.... He started, before seeing that she was asleep. Oh.. He quietly walked over to her and carefully picked her up, carrying her into the bedroom. He put her down for a second to move the quilt before lifting her into the bed. He put the quilt back over her and left the room.

Chloe rolled over and breathed in deeply. Her eye lids flickered.

Gerald got some notes out his bag and frowned putting his head in his hands. Half of the last year's work had been practically ruined from the rain running the ink. Shit! He murmured.

(I think its time for another nightmare! )
Chloe muttered something and her fingers twitched, like she was reaching out at something. She mumbled again and rolled over.

Gerald sat in silence. Eyes tight shut.

Chloe gripped the bed sheets and mumbled more loudly. Images raced past her closed lids, her familys remains, Jack falling, Jack jumping, walking away from her dead family.

Gerald couched down onto the floor and punched the wood beneath him, denting a slight fist shape into it. He looked at his hand. Blood seeped through small cuts all over it.

Chloe heard the bang and flinched, but didn't wake up.
Jack fell again, but in slow motion. She saw her head stretch out but she missed his hand.
JACK! she screamed, thrashing about in her bed.

Gerald eyes widened and he jumped into her room. He ran next to her, not realising she was asleep. What is it? What's wrong ?!?

Chloe continued to scream his name, her face screwed up, she thrashed about in her bed.
JACK, NO!

Gerald placed his hands on her shoulders and tried to gently shake her awake throughout her squirming.
