The used energy from his breath was converted into carbon dioxide once it was returned back to the lungs in the bloodstream. When Gerald breathed this out is released pressure on the lungs making him feel slightly refreshed.

The carbon dioxide floated through the air, mixing with several of the gases already there. Most of it dispersed out an open window.

Damon changed into his clothes and went into tthe kitchen.

A single molecule of carbon dioxide floated up reaching Chloe it mixed with a puff of carbon dioxide she exhaled and the new molecules dispersed into the atmosphere.

Gerald swallowed the pain killer by his bed. The wounds had nearly healed. He turned on his side and traced patterns on her stomach.
