Steven crept to the window and saw it smashed through. He turned to see a man staring back at him.

Mark looked the man in the eyes. He thought the owner would be out. He brought his fist to the man's face before he could start.

Steven was knocked to the floor. He clenched the baseball bat and smashed it at the man's legs.

Mark's leg burst out in pain. He reached for his gun.

Maria bit her lip and slid the gun out of her waistband. She held it in her hand, ready to use it.

Steven felt himself jerk a little as one of the bullets scathed his right side. He swung the baseball bat down on the man's hand, breaking it.
