He walked her down a well lit white and baige corridor, with potted plants occasionally next to windows and other numbered doors with locks on the outside.

Maria glanced at them and swallowed. "Where are we?" she asked the guy.

"Seriously?"

Yes. He replied as they kept walking, Obviously we did need to transform it in places, to accomodate new tests and experiments now that there is a war.

"Obviously," Maria agreed, nodding. "I bet things are different without robots to help you anymore."

Maria nodded. "So the things you basically used robots for in the past," she muttered.

As well as anything remotely artificially intelligent, we cant have our vending machine dispensing poison now can we? He laughed.

Maria narrowed her eyes a little. "Don't do stupid jokes like that, okay, its still a mechanical being," she said to him. "It's still something with a program."

Not all electronic devices needed revising. A lot of things have such a low programming level that even if they were taken over they would be useless.

"I don't care," Maria said bluntly.

He grinned as they reached the room and he opened the door for her.

Maria narrowed her eyes. "What do you need my help for?" she asked, not moving from her spot behind him.

Steven plugged himself into his newest machine, something was wrong, he was getting more and more unstable.

Maria set her jaw and glanced into the room.

He walked through and held the door for her.

Steven concentrated hard, his actions were becoming uncontrollable, and slowly more unspeakable.

Maria warily walked in afterwards, her eyes on the look out for anything suspicious.

He closed the door then strode ahead, walking along the grated metal walkway that circled the edge of the room, ignoring the massive central pillar made of metal and cables, with electricity pulsating in beats at the top. Many control panels could be seen at different levels, and the screen displayed various computer language walls of text.

Maria walked behind him, glancing around at all the control panels dotted around the room. She spotted things she knew of, things that went into her and other robots like her.

He kept walking until the path broke off into two. One lead to another door out of the room, but the other lead to a large, seat-like control panel connected to the massive central pillar. He walked down the latter.

Maria glanced at the other path and frowned to herself before following him.

He walked up to the chair and stopped.
