Maria stopped behind him, a couple paces away.

This is our newly designed Arcanium. It has immense power and with the size of the army we've seen them display so far, it looks like were going to need it. But, with the shortage of workers due to desperate army efforts and destruction nearby, its potential hasn't been achieved. He looked to her. It requires 250 people to operate at full capacity. But, due to the electrical wavelength it works on.. it would only take one AI robot.

Maria sighed, realising why she had been brought here. "I'm guessing you want me to be that robot," she said.

We want to hire you. Yes. He sighed. We're not forcing you, we're not expecting you to stay here forever. We just want to appeal to you to work here, on this. We can set up a living quarters for you here, and you wouldn't be here all the time. Just work hours.

Maria sighed and glanced around. She nodded. "Okay."

He smiled and held his hand out. Good to have you on board.

Maria shook his hand and smiled. "It's great to be on board," she said. "I'm not got a lot of other things to do so I might as well."

Whenever you want to learn the specifics you can plug yourself in, the system itself will explain what to do. He gestured to the door. I can take you to your living quarters if you want.

Maria nodded. "That would be great."

He walked towards the previously ignored pathway and followed it.

Maria followed him, standing at his side this time rather than behind him.

He opened the door for her at the end of the pathway.

Maria walked through with him, thinking.

As the door shut behind them the lights in the single hallway flickered then shut off. Leaving them in almost complete darkness.
He called out towards the intercom then tried the door behind them, it was sealed.

Marie glanced behind them at the door and narrowed her eyes. "How secure is this facility?" she asked, her voice low.

Very. He paused. It's probably... some sort of drill or practise... He said shakily.

"Yeah, sure," Marie said. "Or maybe you have a leak."

"I don't know," she said as she shrugged.

"Something just happened," she said. "And I don't like it."
