Chloe nodded and followed him, smiling.

Gerald walked calmly down the street towards a low roofed house enclosed by defences.

Chloe glanced at it and smiled, taking his hand again.

Gerald looked at the large sign which read 'If human proceed to back gate'

Chloe laughed at the sign.
"I wonder if they think that animals can read."

He laughed and headed round the side.

Chloe grinned and followed him.

He reached the secure gate and opened it.

Chloe checked behind them up the road.

Gerald closed the gate door after them then headed to the front door.

Chloe followed him, grinning. She grabbed his hand again and danced a little.

The first sign that something wasn't right was the small drop of blood outside the door, barely noticeable. The second sign however, was the broken lock on the aforementioned door, which left it hanging open. Gerald went white and his hand pulled the submachine gun from his back.

Chloe looked at him and then lifted her gun.

He held his finger over the trigger and nudged the door open, making a loud creak.

Chloe winced at the creak.

Gerald froze and waited for any sound. He proceeded inside after moments of silence.

Chloe swallowed and followed him in, on guard, her gun clapsed tightly in her hands.

Gerald opened one room to find a load of dead bodies in various places, with what looked like manmade wounds.

Chloe took one look at the bodies and looked away, resisting the urge to be sick. She swallowed loudly.

Gerald swallowed and strafed forwards checking every corner. After a few moments he was certain that whoever had done it was long gone.

Chloe gagged as the smell of blood hit her and ran out into the fresh air again. She gulped it down, resisting the urge to be sick in an old can by the door.

He gasped Dont leave the door open! They can smell blood from a mile away!

"Sorry," Chloe muttered, she grabbed the door and slammed it shut, not wanting to go back in there.

Suddenly, an air vent to the right popped open and Gerald lifted the gun and aimed.

Don't shoot! Came a man's weak voice.
