Gerald looked to Chloe, sound asleep, before returning his gaze. Hey, I know it's hard but you can't just give up. She needs you. I mean take before, I'm not exactly the world's greatest comforter. I would have been there for hours on end trying to calm her down.

What? What do you mean die? He looked alarming.

Sooner or later, I'm gonna die. I'm not gonne live to see this go down. And then Chlo's gonna be all on her own. Look after her, Gerald.
Chloe grunted and turned over. Jack smiled.

I don't understand. You mean you don't think you'll survive this? Cause if so, I mean, it's best not to think about that sort of thing. He said shakily.

He looked at Gerald waiting for an answer.

Gerald looked and the ground not knowing what to say.

(You've done it again!)

Jack sighed.

Chloe's eyes flickered. She groaned and started to sit up.

Gerald placed a second cup in the cupboard and walked to his room.

Chloe yawned and stretched. The big bags under her eyes were still there, but a lighter shade of purple. She smiled at Gerald as he passed and then at Jack.
Morning, she croaked.

Gerald walked into his room and fiddled with some stuff in his bag.

Jack handed Chloe some water and sat next to her on the sofa.

Gerald checked out the window and saw the sun shining high.

Chloe sipped the water.
Sorry about last night, Jack.
Its ok, Chloe. I thought you'd gotten rid of them. I'm sorry.

Gerald opened the small window and looked up checking the side of the building. He wasn't easily shocked by what had happened and, after quickly checking his hand was okay, he wedged through the window and grabbed onto the old air conditioning above the frame, hauling himself up and climbing slowly towards the roof.

He reached the rooftop edge and pulled himself over. Taking the scoped sniper off his back he unpacked his notes and looked down it.

Chloe went into her room and changed her clothes.

Gerald had spent around ten minutes recording any animal behaviour he saw when it appeared. The pack of wolves and dogs. He knew how bad they could be, due to the heightened smell. He lay there observing them, hoping something wouldn't happen. But it did. He saw a few dogs stop. That was always the first sign that they had noticed a difference. A few of them had their noses high in the air ad after moving closer to the building by a few metres they started growling and barking their heads off. The whole pack sprinted widly into the building. Ohhhh Fuck He muttered.

Chloe heard the barking and ran to her window.
Oh, crap!
She grabbed her stuff and shoved it into her bag.
JACK!

Gerald bounded down the side of the building as quick as he could bundling into his bedroom window. DOGS!!! He stuffed everything into his bergen and picked up the MP5 sub-machine gun. He ran into the lounge There's fucking dogs and foxes! we've gotta get to the roof!

Jack threw his stuff in a bag and pushed Chloe ahead of him. He waited for Gerald.

Gerald reloaded the gun. He heard their distant barkings and growlings as they grew closer. He swung his bag onto his bag. and stood at the door. Let's go! C'mon! He held his sub-machine gun in his hand eyeing the corridor cautiously.

Jack pushed Chloe ahead of him and they all ran up the stairs.
