2059 Role Play Thead.

No...it's not...i'm here for you and Jack wanted you to move on. He spoke to me before he died. He told me that if he ever were to die that I had to make sure that you were safe and that you got on with your life. Gerald stopped waiting for her response.

Chloe smiled.
Sounds like him alright. Even since we were kids he always looked our for me.
She bit her lip again.

He was a good person, yes... and there will be time to mourn him, but right now we need to adjust to this new home and set things up. He said pointing around at the almost bare flat.

Chloe nodded and climbed to her feet. She wiped her face dry and looked around.
Jack had my bags! she said.

That could be a problem. He said thinking. I've got all the practical stuff and i'll could try and retrieve the bags at some point He said worryingly. Until then, if you desperately need clothes or anything at some point i could borrow you a few of my smaller sized stuff. He sighed and moved over to his bag.

Chloe sighed.
Thanks. I'm just gonna go for a walk, clear my head.
She moved towards the door.

Wait! He said alarmingly , then suddenly wondering why he had. Err... Be careful... and don't go too far.

Chloe nodded and disappeared out the door. She closed it after herself.

Gerald unpacked all his stuff, placing things around the apartment. Once he got to grips with the flat he decided to have a scout around. He left Chloe a note incase she came back.
' Chloe,
I've just gone to check out the building and it's vantage points. Unfortunately there is only one bedroom so i'll be sleeping on the couch. I've left some clothes that will probably fit you on your bed just incase.
See you when i get back,
Gerald.'

Chloe headed to the roof and sat next to the door. She stared at where she'd seen Jack go. Tears ran down her cheeks.

Gerald explored nearly the whole floor of the building as well as some of the floors below. He was away from the apartment for quite a long time.

Chloe stood up after a while and walked around, her hands shoved in her jean pockets. She walked to the opposite edge of the roof, away from Jack, and peered down.

Gerald checked all the possible entrances and exits he could manage. He also decided he needed to find another apartment relatively near this one incase a similar thing happened. But he would do that at a later date.

(Right, I'm off. I think I can sleep now. Night.)

Chloe sat on the edge and dangled her feet and legs over. She leaned back on her arms and sighed.

Gerald searched other apartments in the same builfng just incase there was some stray animals hiding out. There were none.

Chloe laid on her back and put her hands behind her head. She sighed again as she stared at the sky.

Gerald got a set of tripwires out his pocket and laid them down on some of the lower floors.

The sky was going dark, the wind picked up.
Chloe closed her eyes and sighed again. Pictures of Jack flashed through her mind.

After all the work he'd done Gerald felt slightly tired. He decided to head back up to the apartment. He was three floors down. He walked towards the stairs and saw a small wire hanging out of the ceiling just before the stairs. He jumped up trying to grab it incase it would be important to rewire it it. He didn't notice the weak floorboards beneath him bending and carcking slightly with each jump.

Chloe sighed and opened her eyes again. She groaned and climbed to her feet. She brushed dust off her trousers and made her way back towards the door and down the stairs.

Gerald stopped when he thought he heard a creak near him. He spun round suspiciously. He quickly made one last grab at the wire. Realising only too late that the floor was about to give way. He didn't know how many floors he fell down before everything suddenly went black as his head smashed the side of a hole.

Chloe heard the crash and stopped.
Gerald?
She ran towards the hole and looked down,
GERALD!

Gerald opened his eyes, stunned. He was carefully balanced on a thin slither of wood. He managed to maneuver himself onto some stable flooring before touching a hand to his head. It came back red with his blood. He looked around hazily and thinking of the work he'd done. He'd added vantage points, escape routes and tripwires. He saw darkness creeping at the sides of his vision and allowed it's relief to take him.

Gerald? Gerald, speak to me! Say something!
Chloe got onto her knees and peered down into the hole. She could hardly see anything.
Gerald! Please, say something.

Gerald opened his eyes. He was back in the countryside. The trees were green and he walked towards the familiar house with a smile on his face. He pulled the front door open and ran in with a large smile on his face. He saw Jack, Chloe, Claire and even his mentor Steve sitting in the living room laughing with him.
