She left the room, closing the door after herself.

Gerald glimpsed Damon lingering outside as the door shut. He tried going back to sleep.

Damon was leaning against the wall as Chloe came out. He watched her cross the room and fold away the blanket she'd been using to keep her warm at night.
I told you before and I'll tell you again, sleep in that room.
He jerked his thumb at the room he'd been sleeping in.
I'll sleep on the couch.
No, said Chloe, shaking her head. I'm fine, thank you.

Gerald dropped off to sleep.

Scizak. He heard his name and it echoed around him. Scizak wake up. He opened his eyes. There was a woman standing infront of him. What do you want?
I've just spent 2 months getting you out of this coma, a little more gratitude would be nice.

Chloe didn't do much throughout the day. She caught up on an hours sleep, swapped shifts on the roof with Damon and even cooked dinner, even though she didn't eat much.

Gerald rested trying to regain strength.

Scizak got up. He winced.

Chloe finally collapsed onto the sofa at about sevenish. She sighed.
You should get some more sleep, Damon said from the kitchen.

Gerald awoke. He heard the muffled shout.

Scizak downed the painkillers and they soon kicked in.

Damon rolled his eyes at her and picked up his gun.
I'm doing the night shift tonight, he told her as he walked to the door. You get some rest.

He left.

Gerald called through. Everything okay?

Scizak couldn't move easily now. He walked towards the woman smiling.

Yeah, Chloe called back, sitting up. Damon's just gone do the night shift!

Gerald sighed.

You want something? Chloe said, opening the door a little and poking her head through.

No, I just heard raised voices.

He pushed her against the wall.

Chloe sighed and leaned against the door frame.

Chloe grinned and held him down.
Its nothing like that, promise. He's just nagging at me about my sleeping habits and about sleeping on the couch.

Scizak finished with her. He got up and left her weeping on the floor. He took his faithful knife from the counter and slit her throat.

Chloe checked him over.
