Gerald grabbed his neck and his right arm. He twisted the right arm and pulled Damon towards the apartment.

Damon groaned in pain loudly.

Chloe heard it and turned to the door, puzzled.

Gerald kicked open the door and flung him onto the sofa. Chloe! Get Damon's things!

Chloe looked at them both.
Why? What's happened?

This bastard cut my rope I use for scaling down the building. He gestured to the frayed end of the rope.

Chloe looked shocked.
Do you really? she asked Damon.
No, he said. I swear to god I didn't cut his rope!

But, he's been nowhere near your ropes, they've been in the room with you all the time.
Chloe looked at them both.

No I left my backpack out here last week. He looked down in disgust at Damon. Come on, we'll get his things.

Chloe nodded and went into his room.

Damon rolled his eyes.

Gerald looked down at him. Don't you dare move!

Damon held up his hands.
Wasn't planning to. I'd probably get shot or something! he mumbled.

Chloe grabbed his stuff and threw it into a bag.

Gerald entered and started grabbing some of his stuff up.

Chloe looked at him.
Why would he want to kill you though? I mean, after all these months of looking after you, why try to kill you now?

Chloe laughed.
You're not serious? Me?!

But, he's bearly spoke to me, it wouldn't make any sense.
Chloe frowned.

He probably was just waiting until he could kill me off before making any move. Gerald grabbed the last few things and shoved it in the bag.

Yeah, but this is what I'm getting at, why make you better just to kill you?
Chloe looked at his stomach.
And I'll need to re-do your stitches soon and change them bandages.

He's smart. If he refused to help you wouldn't have liked him. If he killed me while I was injured you would know. But if he tried to make it look accidental, he pointed to the frayed rope, then he could comfort you and he would think you'd get with him.

Chloe frowned.

She clapped her hand to her mouth.
Sorry, she said, the word muffled slightly.

Chloe bit her lip.
I cant believe he nearly killed you.

Gerald smiled weakly.
He then walked back out towards Damon and threw the bag carelessly towards. You can leave. But if I ever see you again I will personally blow your brains out.
