Gerald connected a last wire and flicked the on switch. The small sound box made a steady beeping, like that of a heart monitor, except it was just the beep and it didn't have a screen or visual information.

Working... He mumbled half hearted, focusing more on the device. He picked up the bundle of wires and microchips in one hand and started to assemble some pieces of wood around it as a casing.

Gerald fitted the casing and glued it with superglue. He flicked the switch off and the beeping stopped. He held it tightly and picked up the strong holding tape from the table.

Gerald quickly wrapped the tape around the whole device before placing it inside a cardboard box and shoving the box under the sofa.

It detects a higher heartbeat count in the surrounding area. He walked to the kitchen. So if us two went out, i'd set the count to two heartbeats, then if any animals or other humans came within 20 metres the heartbeat count would beep reguarly for every single different heartbeat.
